Class Music Lessons

Much varied music has taken place in classes through the spring term. Reception enjoyed singing songs about class topics of ‘weather’ and ‘spring’ and started to form a new vocabulary of musical words. Years 1 & 2 are building a larger vocabulary while discovering genres of blues, baroque, latin, bollywood and folk. Years 3 & 4 have spent time singing and learning about reggae, with a spotlight on Bob Marley, followed by a topic exploring world music. They also have weekly tuition on the recorder and ukulele respectively. Years 5 & 6 played and sang pop ballads before voting Lionel Richie as their favourite balladeer. Many children brought instruments into lessons to perform to the class or to accompany singing. We’ve all learnt a lot and enjoyed doing so. 🎶
