Art through ks2

We’ve hit the half way point of the half term and our artists have been very busy!

YEAR 3

We have been learning about relief sculptures and pargeting which is creating art in plaster. Fun fact: the Romans used this technique! We also painted our relief sculptures and when we did this we had to consider every single angle of the sculpture to make sure it all gets some paint.

YEAR 4

Exploring form and shape through use of wire.

Year 4 have been looking into the human form too!

Inspired by sculptor, Giocometti, Year 4 have been creating their own wire, sculptures.

YEAR 5

UKS2 artists have been using papier mache made of tissue paper and PVA. Year 5 used an armature to help mold the shape so the papier mache dried into the shape of the armature.
