Year 2 scientists are carrying out an experiment on cress seeds this week. They are combining their learning and knowledge of working scientifically, conducting a fair test and volume/measurement (which we are looking at in maths this week) to test how seeds grow if given different volumes of water. The children know that other variables have been kept the same (position, seed type, temperature, condition, materials) but half of year 2 are watering their seeds with 50ml of water a day and the other half are watering with 100ml. The children have made predictions- and learned the word hypothesis! They are excited to record their results and draw conclusions.
