Seeds, Plants and People- year 2 at The Horniman Museum

Devil’s claw seeds which we learned are dispersed by attaching to animals’ fur.

Year 2 had a fantastic trip to The Horniman Museum today and attended a Seeds, Plants and People workshop. We learned the many ways that seeds are dispersed in order for new plants to grow, avoiding overcrowding and harsh competition. We also considered how much people depend on plants and realised that we can not survive without them and therefore we need to nurture and protect plants and trees. Year 2 used their excellent listening skills during the workshop and also had a lot of fun exploring the rest of The Horniman. The children and Mrs Bracken would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers for making the trip possible.
