This week we have been taking part in experiments, today we looked at static electricity!
We had a bottle and small pieces of tin foil and a balloon, we managed to get the tin foil inside the bottle to move without moving the bottle! We simply moved the balloon! However due to some tiny droplets of water being in the bottle, and some ridges from the shape of the bottle we decided it may be better to try a bottle that is completely dry and has no ridges, as it may work better!
We then decided to use the static charge on our hair!!! We discussed why this worked better on some of us than others, we decided the electric charge needed to be super strong to pull up someone’s hair that was plaited or tied up.
