St. Margaret’s had a special World Book Day visitor this morning – author, illustrator and actor Nancy Carroll who came to read to us from her soon-to-be-published book, Daisy Fitzpatrick and her Worries.
Daisy Fitzpatrick has some things on her mind. Worries and anxieties that affect us all. Fear of the dark, being alone, heights, the sea. With each of these twelve poems, Daisy considers and finds a new perspective, helping her face her worries head on.
Nancy shared with us all that Daisy isn’t alone in being scared of things – many of her fears are fears that Nancy has herself. She also talked to us about her lifelong love of stories and how she hasn’t allowed being Dyslexic to hold her back as either an author or as an actor.
It was lovely to meet Nancy and to hear what it’s like to write and publish your first book – we can’t wait to see copies in the Library and classrooms when it is published on 14th April.
