Montell Douglas is the only British woman who has ever competed at both Summer (Beijing 2008) and Winter Olympics (Beijing 2022). In 2008, she represented Team GB on the sprinting track and in 2022 she is part of a two-woman bobsleigh team!
This in itself is surely an inspiration. However, when the children in KS2 learned today that Montell went to St Margaret’s Lee as a pupil, there was a collective gasp!
She is competing on Saturday 19th February.
It would be amazing if she could visit us when the Winter Olympics are over and talk to the children about her journey! Watch this space!
