Year 4 have been delving into poetry again this week and we spent yesterday listening to and reading the famous Robert Burns poem, My Love is like a Red, Red Rose.
We listened to Eddi Readers’s beautiful sung rendition before reading the poem to each other, discussing what some of the unfamiliar language might mean and what the poem itself is about.
The children showed real creativity and imagination and all felt that they’d now be more inclined to explore poetry old and new with their newfound tools for decoding it.
