Year 2 history: Thank you Mr Pepys.

Today the children discussed how we know about events that have happened in the past. We remembered that we have access to primary sources which are an excellent way for those of us in the present day to accurately study the past. We remembered that Samuel Pepys’ diary is an incredible primary source for people who want to know what happened during the fire of London. The children imagined that they were Samuel Pepys sitting in his window writing about what he could see, smell and hear as the fire took hold of the city. The children did an excellent job of writing their own diary entries.

We also recalled everything we have learned about the fire so far competing in an online Kahoot quiz which year 2 absolutely loved.
