We are in the second week of writing suspense stories in Year 4 and took to the wildlife area to dramatise how we build tension in a story.
Whilst some eager volunteers stood still, wearing a blindfold, others had to make them sense that they were not alone, using sound, presence or gentle touch. Our volunteers then had to shout out what they felt, sensed or heard.
We then snuck up on each other to help come up with phrases to describe fleeting glimpses of something or someone.
Much fun was had and we’ve come up with some superbly creative and sophisticated ideas as a result.
