We had a plant-packed science lesson this week. Year 2 all contributed to a class discussion on what plants need to grow and then designed an experiment to see what would happen if plants are deprived of what they need. They made some excellent predictions. We will observe what has happened to our deprived plants next week and compare the results to our predictions.
We then went outside to observe the plants we had planted in April and see how they have grown. The children were thrilled to see small green strawberries growing.
Finally, year 2 made detailed observational drawings of our petunia plants. They worked so hard and produced some excellent work – well done year 2.
