Women in Science

Across the school, we’re exploring gender stereotypes and over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been learning about some pretty inspirational women in the field of science.

Not many people have heard of Professor Sarah Gilbert. Having gone to her local comprehensive school and then onto university, despite been quite shy she worked hard and helped to save the world! As a leading part of a team, she developed the Oxford Astra Zeneca vacinne.

Today we learned about the inspiring story of Mae Jemison, the first African American women in space.

If I can dream it, if I can believe in it, and if I work hard for it, anything is possible.

  1. It’s great to see the many outstanding achievements of women all over. Very inspirational to see the world recognise their potential as well as celebrate diversity and equality.
