Year 4 – Friday 22nd May

Good Morning Year 4

πŸ‘† That’s good morning in English! (I’m struggling to find languages I’ve not used yet, if you can think of any, comment on this blog post)

If you’ve had a bit of a tough week (or even if you haven’t) I hope this video can make it better. It warmed my heart, I hope it warms yours too.

Isn’t nature amazing?

must should could

πŸ₯³CONGRATULATIONSπŸŽ‰We have now finished our Maths Unit on Money. Well done for all the brilliant Maths work I know that you have been doing at home. πŸ…Team Points for EVERYONE!

Have a go at the End of Unit to check. You could always flick back in your Powermaths book for a reminder if you get stuck on any questions.

Spelling – Hive Game

Join me today at 12pm for a HIVE game on Spelling Shed. We will be testing this week’s ‘cian’ words.

To join the Hive, go onto Spelling Shed and open the menu on the left of the screen. Click ‘Join Hive Game’. I will post the code to join in the comments on the blog, as an announcement on SeeSaw and text your parents.

Read this text and answer the questions.

When you have finished, log onto SeeSaw where you will find the answers. *NO CHEATING!* The task is called ‘Reading Friday – Sherpas’.

Mark your work, do any corrections and then upload a picture for me to see how you did.

Today’s lesson is on BBC Bitesize and is about formal and informal language.

  1. Click this link
  2. Watch the video
  3. Do the activities.
  4. SeeSaw – Read both of the paragraphs (activity 3 and 4) to me on seesaw (you can video if you like) but DON’T tell me which is informal and formal. I should be able to guess.

Must (you must do this)

πŸ“š Read your book for 20 minutes (there are loads on EPIC if you’ve run out – details here)

🧹🧽Help out around the house. Ask your adult what you could do to help today πŸ™‚

Should (you should do this)

Something a bit different today…

You could take part in Art Club today, or even make it a longer project during the half term. I don’t mind, just be creative.

Please share any of your creations (or your families) with me on SeeSaw πŸ™‚

Could (you could do this)

You could:

  • Grow your bee on spelling shed 🐝
  • Practice rocking out in the garage on TT Rockstars 🎸
  • Learn a card trick πŸƒ
  • Paint a portrait or landscape 🎨
  • Invent a board game with instructions to play with your family tonight 🎲
  • Read a book on EPIC πŸ“–
  • Get to know the trees in your area using a plant identification app 🌲
  • Help make dinner and write the recipe for next time πŸ”

Info about log in details are on this blog post.

I hope you all have a safe, relaxing half term break. You and your family deserve it! If you do anything cool that you want to share with me, feel free to put it on your journal on SeeSaw.

Now, go and enjoy some extended Golden Time! πŸ₯‡β
