Courageous advocacy

Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless. – Proverbs 31:8

Following our school focus on courageous advocacy, several of our pupils are already thinking about what they can do to help others. Almost every day in the playground, I have groups of children saying what they want to do and so this morning I gave some guidance in collective worship to try and put ideas into action …

1.Whatever you are passionate about, find out more. Ask an adult for help finding out about charities that support this. DO NOT GO ON THE INTERNET WITHOUT ADULT HELP

2.Plan what you would like to do to help. Ask friends to help. Ask parents and carers to help.

3.Make it happen! Friday afternoons will be reserved for anyone who wants to do something. Whether it’s fundraising or just raising awareness, this will be your chance to be a courageous advocate for change!
