Year 3 have been doing some lovely creative writing in response to pictures over the past couple of weeks. To continue this, and to link to the end of our Rainforests topic, we have been looking at the brilliant picture book ‘Window’ by Jeannie Baker, which chronicles the changing landscape over a period of 24 years. The children thoroughly enjoyed looking for clues in the book in order to establish how much time had passed and what had changed. They then worked in pairs to generate ideas for some truly impassioned and beautiful poetry about deforestation and urbanisation.
As the weather was so glorious on Friday we thought that sharing our work in the sunshine was a perfect start to the day.
