We have been using Art to explore and learn about the structure and formation of volcanoes. Margaret Godfrey uses collage and mixed media to create striking images of erupting volcanoes and we have done the same.
We sketched a cross-section, showing the magma chamber, throat and vents, then layered over tissue paper to create texture and to show lava and ash clouds. When the glue is dry, we will highlight details in order to complete our magma masterpieces.
