We’ve had a hilariously productive start to our French project this term, which is Les Trois Petits Cochons (The Three Little Pigs). Much to Year 3’s delight, we watched a brilliant puppet version by Andrew Praamsma (available on YouTube – search for Les Trois Petits Cochons) and then worked through the story as language detectives, seeing how many words we could work out either because they are cognates (similar to the English word) or because of our previous knowledge of the story.
We then did some drama, taking it turn to play the wolf and the pigs and discovered that wolves who are giggling hysterically are rather less scary than the growling ones!
By the end of this half term, we will have made our own versions of the story and look forward to sharing them with you.
