Happy New Year!
I hope that you all have had a wonderful and blessed Christmas and a joyful New Year. I hope and pray that 2019 is a truly good year for you all.
It was my first Christmas at St Margaret’s and a particularly enjoyable one, with full and joyful services across the whole season. I particularly enjoyed the school productions and did not miss one of them! Congratulations to all the pupils and staff for setting up Christmas so wonderfully!
As we start a New Year I wanted to draw you attention to a particular service that takes place at St Margaret’s every Tuesday. At 9.30am we have a Eucharist where we pray for the needs of the whole parish, including our school. We have chosen to have it at 9.30am so that parents of pupils at St Margaret’s School can come on to St Margaret’s Church after dropping their children off at school.
I understand that Sundays can be rather difficult, with many activities happening on Sunday mornings which makes regular attendance at church rather difficult. The Eucharist on a Tuesday may then be just up your street! It provides a quiet space during the week for personal reflection – a little oasis amongst the rush and bustle of 21st century living!
The service lasts for a maximum of half an hour and everyone is welcome. Please bring along any young children as well.
Our family parish Eucharist is on Sundays at 10.30am, which includes children’s church during term time and on the second Sunday of the month we have a special children’s service at 9am during which Boris the accordion often makes an appearance! You are all very welcome.
On a personal note it has been lovely meeting you all before school on a Monday morning. Do please get in touch if I can ever be of assistance and if we have not had the opportunity yet to meet, do please come up and say hello!
Wishing you all a Very Blessed 2019.
Rev Tim Goode (Rector of St Margaret’s)
