I know I have the best job in the world and lessons like this prove it. 😃
Last Thursday we were looking at working systematically and using dominoes in investigations.
First things first – how did we know we had a full set? I asked how we could check and Year 3 came up with some superb responses.
Count them? You might have doubles.
Add up the dots? There are lots of them so lots of opportunities to make an error.
Arrange them in colours? We had more than one set of each colour.
So what’s the solution?
It turns out that there are lots. Working in pairs, the children came up with their own system to prove that they had a full set and if not, which pieces they were missing. Lots of brilliantly different brains meant lots of brilliantly different answers and they all worked. Great job, Mathmagicians!
