Yesterday, Year 6 spent time visiting older members of our community at the Kingswood Halls, where they hold the Darby and Joan club on Tuesday afternoons. I was so very proud of our wonderful young people as they made such an effort to engage with, and talk to, all the guests at the club. We swapped stories about experiences of living in Lewisham over the past 80 years or so and I think everyone was amazed by how much has changed. We met a past dinner lady from St. Margaret’s and had a welcome surprise when Rev. Tim popped in to say hello. The guests were incredibly complimentary about our pupils’ manners, intelligence and interest in the world around them. Thanks to Cilla Bartlett for inviting us.
