Year 6 ‘take it to the bridge’ for Science Week

Is the next great bridge-builder currently in Year 6? Mrs Peters seems to think so!

We have had a brilliant time building bridges in Year 6. Armed with nothing more than paper straws, masking tape and elastic bands, groups had to build a bridge with a span of at least 25cm. Each structure was then tested to see how many counters in a cup it could support. Much to our surprise, the winner was also the simplest structure (see final picture) – great work, Team Beam Bridge 😀👏🏼👏🏼

The wide range of ideas and amazing aptitude for engineering than everyone showed suggests that the future stars of civil engineering are at St. Margaret’s!
